San Francisco still has the best food!

kirsti @ 11:53 am

The first two days of 70 degree weather were awesome but as usual the weather flip flops more than some politicians. Amiya loved the Stanford shopping center and lunching outside Andronicos market in Palo Alto. Much more exciting though was staying with our friends Krates and Natsumi and their two cats, who always made Amiya laugh. We ate lots of great food, walked around the cities, did some rock climbing, and watched some olympics and Japanese anime. Totoro is my new favorite anime and a movie I think I can live with if I have to watch it 5000 times with Amiya. Check out the new pictures from our trip.

Oh, the 20 pound playpen? Amiya only used it for one nap.

Why a 16 pound human requires 50 pounds of luggage

kallol @ 10:10 am

Amiya first takeoff Fifty pounds of luggage is actually not that much of a stretch given that Amiya’s diaper bag typically weighs 30 pounds. His flight experience was generally uneventful. There was no screaming and only a little fussing as he went down for a nap during the flight.

Oh, and the remaining 20 lbs? That was the play pen.

Leaving on a jet plane…

kallol @ 9:44 am

We’re gearing up for Amiya’s first trip on a plane as we head down to the Bay Area for some good times. Every time I see families flying I always wonder how they can carry all that gear when I can barely lift my own carry-on filled with books, magazines, PSP, laptop etc. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow! Expect Bay Area pictures when we return!

Sort of like landing on the moon…

kallol @ 10:51 pm

One of the most fascinating things about parenthood has to be the wonder that mundane things generate, where mundane is defined as things that have happened, oh, a hundred billion times.  Pregnancy and birth are examples. The slow transition towards crawling is another. (more…)

More Pictures!

kirsti @ 7:37 pm

I have posted some more pictures. Some highlights are our first wedding with Amiya and lots of visitors during the summer months. If I keep looking at those pictures I am not so depressed about all this rain. Today was a beautiful day though and by optomistic accounts, spring is almost here. Enjoy the new pictures.
